Asim Azhar, Pakistan’s pop sensation, now has a band, and Strings’ member Ahad Nayani has joined him.
Azhar, who has recently garnered more attention for his personal life than his musical endeavours, has launched The Asim Azhar Band. In a photo with his band members, Azhar said that Nayani would be one of the premier musicians introducing a fresh vibe to Pakistan’s pop music sector.

Nayani, regarded as one of Pakistan’s finest drummers today, has also participated in Coke Studio with Strings. He is the first drummer from Pakistan to be appointed as a brand ambassador for Vater Percussion and Mapex Drums. Additionally, he was featured in Modern Drummer Magazine just a few days ago. He was previously featured in Rolling Stones Magazine India.
Azhar’s band photo also features Kamran Zafar, a.k.a. Mannu, the excellent bassist who collaborated with Ali Azmat on ‘Klashinfolk’ and contributed to Mekaal Hassan Band’s live sessions on numerous occasions. Manu has also participated in Coke Studio and collaborated with some of the region’s most well-known artists.
However, the Yaad singer has not released any additional information about his band or the theme of their upcoming performances. However, let us hope we get to hear his band of maestros perform soon.
