A three-day international conference titled “Cultivating Wellness: Bridging Agriculture, Food, and Health” was hosted by Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) from 23rd to 25th April 2025. The conference was organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Academy of Sciences and aimed at exploring the critical intersections of agriculture, food systems, and public health. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali (Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab) as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Florence Rolle (FAO Country Representative in Pakistan) as the Guest of Honor. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Dr. Kauser Abdulla Malik (Dean of Postgraduate Studies at FCCU, Director ORIC at FCCU, and President Pakistan Academy of Sciences), who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in ensuring sustainable agriculture and public health. A comprehensive overview of the conference was presented by Dr. Muhammad Bilal Sadiq (Chairperson of the School of Life Sciences, FCCU).
Throughout the three days, the conference featured 45 oral presentations by both national and international experts. Distinguished speakers from Belarus, China, and Turkey shared their latest research findings and insights, contributing to a rich exchange of knowledge and strategies on issues ranging from sustainable farming practices to nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
The concluding ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed (Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan) as the Chief Guest, who applauded the conference’s efforts in fostering innovation, research, and policy development at the nexus of agriculture, food, and health.
