Islamabad – Federal police in the nation have filed a complaint against Civil Judge Asim Hafeez and his wife for allegedly torturing young domestic helper Rizwana, who suffered severe injuries.
The Punjab Judicial Service civil judge, who is now employed at the Federal Judicial Academy, refuted the accusations, but the event sparked controversy since Rizwana, a 14-year-old domestic helper, was discovered to have suffered severe injuries.
On the father of the victim’s complaint, the case was opened at Islamabad’s Hamak police station. The complaint and the medico-legal certificate were among the documents that the Sargodha police had earlier given to federal officers.
The victim’s father claimed in the FIR that his 14-year-old daughter Rizwana had previously worked at the home of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez. His father said that when he last saw his daughter two days ago, he saw her trapped in a room with obvious signs of torture all over her body.
The victim eventually informed the family that Saumya, the judge’s wife, had been abusing her every day.
After the victim’s condition deteriorated on Monday, she was transferred to Lahore, and her relatives petitioned the provincial government for justice.
Police stated that they are working to retain the suspects throughout the investigation and that the matter would be thoroughly examined.
