In the Upper Dir neighborhood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the 34-year-old Indian woman was staying at the residence of her 29-year-old Pakistani acquaintance Nasrullah.

Anju’s father stated that she was effectively dead for her family back in India because she had travelled to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area of Pakistan and married her Facebook buddy there on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters in Bouna village, Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district, her father Gaya Prasad Thomas said that she had damaged the futures of her two children.

She should have divorced her husband first if she wanted to do this, he added. “She is no longer (alive) for us. The way she ran away leaving her two children and husband behind… she did not even think of her children.”
