Meesha Shafi, the Pakistani singer who accused singer-actor Ali Zafar of sexual harassment in 2018. And sparked the #MeToo movement in Pakistan, denies reports that she has sentenced to prison.
According to media reports, Meesha Shafi sentenced to three years in prison after singer Ali Zafar filed a defamation lawsuit against her.
Meesha shared a Daily Mail report on her Instagram account. Claiming that she had sentenced to a fake arrest. Sexual assault victims find it difficult to come forward because of the negative consequences, according to the singer.
Meesha Shafi, on the other hand, recently debunked the claim on Instagram, writing. “Speaking up is even harder than harassed.”
Her lawyer, Asad Jamal, also clarified that the trial court had yet to reach a decision.
