Zohaib Hassan, the brother of late singer Nazia Hassan and co-composer, has stated that his late sister was poisoned by her husband, Ishtiaq Baig.
The Silsilay singer claimed in an interview with Samaa TV that Baig poisoned Nazia, which resulted in her cancer. Nazia had one of her ovaries removed following an ovarian cancer diagnosis; she was in remission when she returned to her husband but soon developed throat cancer, which perplexed her doctor, he added.
Additionally, the acclaimed guitarist stated that his sister was so fed up with Baig’s mistreatment that she filed for divorce before her death. He is remorseful for allowing her sister to marry Baig. It will be 21 years since Nazia Hassan, dubbed the Queen of Pop, died after a lasting cancer battle on August 13.
According to reports, Ishtiaq Baig has announced that he will sue Zohaib for Rs1 billion for defamation. He also claimed that the Disco Deewane actress was the love of his life and that they married despite her cancer diagnosis.
