Mehwish Hayat has been cast as Benazir Bhutto in her biopic; the deal has been finalised.

Mehwish Hayat, a National Award-winning actress, is set to play Pakistan’s first and only female Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in her upcoming film.

The actress from Load Wedding appeared on Geo’s ‘Aik Din Geo Ke Sath’ to confirm the news that “the deal is signed.” A few years ago, the actress expressed interest in portraying the late Benazir Bhutto in a biopic.

When the host inquired whether the rumour of her portraying Benazir was true, Mehwish responded, “InshAllah.” It’s a massive subject and one that’s extremely complicated, but her storey is truly inspirational. [I believe] that both our current and future generations require an understanding of her contributions, struggles, progress, and life.”

The Jawani Phir Nahi Aani actress continued, “She was the country’s first female Prime Minister.” The world must learn about her.”
