Even better than they anticipated, Adidas got orders for 4 million pairs of unsold Yeezy shoes, totalling a staggering 508 million euros (about $565 million). The German sportswear manufacturer has experienced relief as a result of this favourable conclusion because it spares them from suffering large losses on the remaining stock.
Adidas previously ceased selling the Yeezy shoes due to a drop in sales following contentious comments made by the musician formerly known as Kanye West. Adidas has been reassured by the high demand for the unsold trainers that the previous events have not had a detrimental influence on the Yeezy brand.
Adidas had responded to the circumstance by announcing in May that they would contribute a share of the sales of the Yeezy shoe to organisations battling racism and antisemitism. Five American and Chinese charities have already been chosen for this purpose, and conversations are currently taking place to determine the precise amount to be contributed. Adidas is committed to supporting these significant causes with a sizable portion of the Yeezy sales.
