A female student, identified as Fatima, a first-semester pharmacy student, attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a university building. She was immediately rushed to the ICU of a private hospital affiliated with the university. Doctors say she is receiving treatment, and her condition is being closely monitored.

According to university sources, Fatima had arrived on campus in the morning after being dropped off by her brother. The incident reportedly took place at the same spot from where another student had attempted suicide earlier. The repetition of such incidents at the same location has deeply shocked students and parents alike.

Soon after the incident, the university administration sealed all entry and exit points and announced the indefinite suspension of academic activities. A notice was issued to students and staff, but it did not provide a clear timeline for reopening. The sudden closure caused confusion and anxiety among students, many of whom took to social media to express concern over campus safety and lack of communication.

This is not the first such tragedy at the same university. Just last month, a student named Owais Sultan lost his life after jumping from the fourth floor of the same building. According to reports, the incident occurred on December 19 at around 8:10 am. A fellow student, Hamza, claimed that Owais was not allowed to enter his classroom by a teacher. After sitting outside the class for some time, he allegedly jumped from the building.

Classmates later shared that Owais had appeared stressed on several occasions and had poor attendance. Hamza also stated that Owais was under intense mental pressure due to issues related to exams. He claimed that students often face added stress from the university administration over fees and other administrative matters.

These back-to-back incidents have sparked a wider conversation about mental health support in educational institutions. Students and parents are demanding better counseling services, fair academic policies, and a more supportive environment. Mental health experts stress that young students, especially those in their first semesters, are vulnerable and need guidance, understanding, and access to professional help.
