A significant step towards supporting the families of journalists and media professionals, the Media Workers Organization (MWO) Lahore and KIPS Education System have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide special fee discounts for the children of MWO members.
According to the agreement, MWO members will now be entitled to a 30% to 40% discount on their children’s educational expenses, including admission fees, tuition fees, and other related charges. Furthermore, in the unfortunate event of a member’s death during service, their children will receive an extended 50% to 60% fee concession, ensuring that their education continues without financial burden.
The signing ceremony took place at the KIPS campus, where an MWO delegation — including President Adnan Shoukat, General Secretary Tahir Munsef Awan, Supreme Council Member Mehboob Elahi, Information Secretary Irfan Anwar, and Election Commission Member Ali Aslam — met with the KIPS management team. The KIPS representatives included Managing Director Salman Maqsood, Director Colonel (R) Asadullah Khan, General Manager Zaheer Ahmed, and Franchise Manager Usman Alam Baig.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the importance of educational access and the need to support families who work tirelessly in the media industry. The atmosphere remained cordial and productive, reflecting a shared commitment to social welfare and community uplift.
After signing the MoU, MWO President Adnan Shoukat expressed his gratitude to the KIPS management for their generous initiative. He stated,
“By offering this special educational discount, KIPS has shown great compassion towards our members and their families. This collaboration will bring real relief to those who dedicate their lives to keeping the public informed. On behalf of all MWO members, I extend heartfelt thanks to the KIPS team for recognizing our efforts and supporting our cause.”
General Secretary Tahir Munsef Awan and other delegation members also thanked the KIPS administration and conveyed their best wishes for the institution’s continued success.
KIPS Managing Director Salman Maqsood highlighted that education should never be compromised due to financial constraints. He reaffirmed KIPS’s commitment to empowering every segment of society through quality and accessible education.
