Islamabad – The Supreme Court has allowed MHPL, the former operator of Royal Palm Golf and Country Club, to participate in the new lease bidding process. The court rejected Pakistan Railways’ objections, calling restrictions in the bid documents unjustified.

Justice Aminuddin remarked, “How can we stop the very party that developed this institution?”

Since termination of the agreement between two parties in 2019 which has its appeal pending in court , Pakistan Railways has reportedly brought down the standard of Club and didn’t pay anything to the National exchequer in 6 years.

It is worth noting that Pakistan Railways has previously faced criticism for attempting to exclude certain parties, from the lease process through legal and procedural hurdles—an approach the court clearly discouraged.
