In a recent development, popular YouTuber Ducky Bhai and his wife, Aroob Jatoi, were arrested on charges of displaying an illegal weapon on social media. The arrest took place in Bahria Town, Lahore, following an October morning raid at their residence.
According to sources within the police, the couple came under scrutiny after Aroob Jatoi posted a photo on her Instagram account featuring the unlawful weapon. The police promptly initiated an investigation, leading to their apprehension. Authorities have expressed concerns about the potential influence of such content on the public, particularly among the youth who follow social media influencers.
Senior crime reporter, Umar, from Samaa News, added that the couple is also being investigated for promoting slogans in support of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest against the government. The allegations suggest that they may have used their platform to encourage anti-government sentiment during the ongoing political unrest.
During questioning, the couple reportedly pointed fingers at each other. Ducky Bhai, whose real name is Saad Ur Rehman, alleged that his wife was responsible for posting the image, while Aroob Jatoi accused Ducky Bhai of orchestrating the incident.
Ducky Bhai, known for his vlogs and comedic content, has a significant online presence with over 8 million subscribers on YouTube. His content is followed by millions across the country, making this case particularly sensitive due to the reach and influence of social media figures.
