Punjab School Education Minister Sikandar Hayat has announced an ambitious plan to recruit thousands of teachers for government schools across the province. In an effort to address the prevailing shortage of educators, the minister revealed that 30,000 teaching positions will be filled over the next two months.
Minister Hayat detailed that the recruitment will be executed in several phases, with the aim of hiring between 20,000 to 30,000 teachers during the summer holidays. “We plan to conclude the recruitment process during the summer break, ensuring schools are well-staffed for the upcoming academic year,” he stated.
The provincial government also intends to address any remaining teacher shortages through a rationalization process. This strategic move is expected to not only create job opportunities but also significantly enhance the quality of education in government schools.
