Renowned actress Rebecca Ferguson, set to star in Dune: Part Two, recently unveiled a distressing encounter with a disrespectful co-star that led her to take a stand. While the actor chose not to disclose the identity, social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), is buzzing with speculations, suggesting it might be Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise.
In a candid interview on the podcast “Reign with Josh Smith,” Ferguson recounted the incident that compelled her to confront a fellow actor known for their inappropriate behavior on set. Though names were omitted, the online community has been quick to link the dots, with many leaning towards Tom Cruise as the possible culprit.
Ferguson described her ordeal, stating, “I did a film with an absolute idiot of a co-star. This human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out. And I think I was so vulnerable and uncomfortable that I got screamed at. I would cry walking off set. This person would literally look at me in front of the whole crew and say, ‘You call yourself an actor? This is what I have to work with? What is this?’ And I stood there, just breaking.”
The actress revealed the emotional toll the experience took on her, emphasizing that, due to the co-star’s prominent position on the call sheet, she felt unprotected and lacked a support system. Despite the challenges, Ferguson summoned the courage to address the issue the following day, demanding the co-star leave the set. Her bold stance, however, faced resistance from producers who argued for the co-star’s presence due to their top billing.
Reactions on social media were swift, with Twitter users expressing their opinions on the possible identity of the unnamed co-star. Some tweets suggested Tom Cruise, linking the revelation to Ferguson’s character being killed off in the last Mission Impossible movie. A user remarked, “My guess is that the actor she is talking about is Tom Cruise. Their loss. She was one of the best parts of the franchise.”
However, skepticism emerged among some X users who questioned whether Ferguson was referring to a male actor at all. One tweet read, “She doesn’t say whether it was a man or woman, right? I think using the word ‘actor’ makes people assume she’s talking about a male.” Another user concurred, stating, “That was my guess. It can’t be Tom Cruise or Hugh Jackman.”

Adding to the speculation, Michael Fassbender’s name was also thrown into the mix, considering his past collaboration with Ferguson in The Snowman (2017).
In the midst of this Hollywood drama, it’s crucial to note that Rebecca Ferguson is gearing up for her role in Dune: Part Two, the highly anticipated sequel to the Oscar-winning 2021 film directed by Denis Villeneuve. Ferguson will portray Jessica, the mother of Paul Atreides, played by Timothee Chalamet, in this upcoming science fiction film co-starring Zendaya.
