Actor Vin Diesel’s former assistant filed a complaint in Los Angeles Monday, claiming that in the autumn of 2010, while Fast & Furious was filming, the Fast & Furious star sexually assaulted her.

After joining the Fast and Furious star’s firm, Asta Jonasson stated that her first task was to go to Atlanta in September 2010. She was assigned to assist Diesel in leaving a hotel early in the morning after he had entertained many ladies in a suite, all before the paparazzi were made aware of his location.

In her case, she claims that while groping her in his hotel suite, Mr. Sinclair, 56, physically overpowered her and “ignored Ms. Jonasson’s clear statements of non-consent.” The actor’s sister Samantha Vincent, who is in charge of his production firm One Race Films, allegedly contacted her “mere hours” after the event and dismissed her.

“The meaning was evident. According to the lawsuit, Vin Diesel would be shielded and his sexual assault would be hushed up, and Ms. Jonasson was sacked for her valiant resistance of his assault. In the civil lawsuit, Diesel, Vincent, and their businesses are sued for undisclosed damages.

The complaint claims that Jonasson remained silent during the following years because she signed a nondisclosure agreement when she accepted the One Race role. According to the lawsuit, she was able to bring the claims because of two laws: California’s AB2777, which temporarily waives the statute of limitations for allegations of sexual abuse that occurred in 2009 or later, and the Speak Out Act, which prohibits the enforcement of nondisclosure agreements in cases of sexual assault and harassment.

The lawsuit also claims that she was motivated to “reclaim her agency and justice for the suffering she endured at the hands of Vin Diesel and One Race” by the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.

Born Mark Sinclair, Diesel is most recognized for his work as the voice of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy film series and as Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise. He produces several of the Fast & Furious films alongside his sister Samantha.
