In yet another instance of violence against women in India, several males attacked and beat up a Muslim girl who worked as a physiotherapist in the Madhya Pradesh city of Ujjain.

The horrific occurrence happened as the girl was going home from work on Friday night, shocking the Muslim community as well as residents and government authorities, according to Indian media.

According to the story, the police apprehended the two attackers, however a video posted on Twitter by the Madhya Pradesh Congress showed the woman saying five individuals attacked her.

Additionally, she said that one of the attackers informed her that the “police are in my pocket” and that his mother was also engaged in the incident.

On Saturday, a police station was gheraoed by a sizable number of people, including Noori Khan, a female MP Congress member and representative for minorities in the state.

They sent a note to the SP requesting harsh punishment for the offenders and the destruction of their homes.

The victim, who was attacked and is currently being treated in a hospital, reportedly said that a guy called Hitesh Badwaya sidetracked her and pulled her dupatta.

When she objected, Badwaya’s assistant grabbed her hands and the two of them began pounding her.

Noori Khan visited the hospital to check on the victim, who sought justice and the arrest of the attackers, as shown in the video MP Congress posted.

She revealed to Khan that the attackers had also beaten a man who had come over to assist her. Later, the suspects claimed that the man who arrived to “save me was my brother” and that they assaulted “me because of an enmity with him”, she continued.

“Everyone in the neighborhood was watching. They were going to murder me. He tore my clothing too,” the woman recounted while sobbing vehemently.

present were five individuals present, according to her, as well as a male “who had come naked and told me that you deserve this.”

She said that the assaulters were prompted to “do the same as Manipur women with me” by the involved man and woman.

Additionally, the victim claimed that neither the police nor the media were taking any action to provide her justice.

The event occurred a few days after the Manipur incident, in which a group of men gang-raped two women and displayed them about nude.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration of India, led by Narendra Modi, has come under scrutiny for failing to stop violence against women in Manipur and other parts of the nation.

Global leaders expressed their disapproval and outrage over the heinous conduct in Manipur.

It should be highlighted that the perpetrators of the Manipur event have not been the subject of any substantial action.
