Mathira, a model, host, and television personality, startled the world lately when she revealed how famed actor Sonya Hussyn bullied her for being mistaken for a “she-male.”
Mathira recently exposed the industry’s dark underbelly on social media when people attempted to undermine her job search. The model explained how tough it was to cope following her divorce, even though celebrities such as Hussyn insulted her repeatedly.
“When I was suffering with depression following my divorce, there was a point when I despised my appearance. I wanted to make a change to improve my mood, so I cropped my hair and coloured it blonde,” she recalled. This occurred concurrently with her invitation to the IPPA Awards in London. She was on a bus with other celebrities.
“I was listening to music and doing my own business when I learned from other celebrities that Miss Sonya Hussyn mistook me for a she-male. I was so denigrated that she was commenting on me. At the same time, I remained silent,” she explained. Additionally, she stated that despite being yelled at, she chose to assist the Kitni Girhain Baqi Hain star due to her “poor English at the moment.

Hussyn called Mathira to discuss her post. Hussyn was devastated to learn that Mathira was forced to deal with despair alone.
She stated that a lack of communication results in negativity. “My suggestion to everyone is that you refrain from passing judgement without contextualising and giving the opposing viewpoint,” she stated. Nonetheless, she made no mention of Mathira’s bullying charges in her piece.
