Illness and Demise
On September 10th, 2021, Waseem Badami shared a video of Umer Sharif pleading with Pakistan’s Prime Minister for cancer treatment abroad. When the film was released, some celebrities, including Daler Mehdi, Johnny Lever, and other Pakistani celebrities, petitioned Prime Minister Imran Khan for assistance.
On September 16th, the government awarded him a US visa for treatment in addition to the 40 million rupees sanctioned for the treatment. However, on October 2nd, Umer Sharif died in Germany. Umer Sharif has left us with a wealth of pleasant memories, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. He left a legacy as the “King of Comedy.” Without a doubt, Umer Sharif is one of the best comedians on the entire Indian Subcontinent. He was also dubbed “The God Of Asian Comedy” by famous Indian comedians like Johnny Lever and Raju Srivastav.
