
Four fans arrived late Thursday at Umar Akmal’s residence seeking autographs, only to be arrested.
According to reports, the middle-order batsman got into an altercation with them, which escalated into a brawl outside his home in Lahore’s Defence area. On Akmal’s complaint, police arrived on the scene and arrested the four men.
According to SP Cantt, the arrested fans were drunk, and alcohol bottles were discovered in their car. Akmal’s supporters, a British national, have also filed a case against the cricketer.
Akmal has represented Pakistan in 16 Tests, 121 One-Day Internationals, and 84 Twenty20 Internationals, amassing 5,887 runs. Three centuries and 34 fifties are included.
