Nigar Johar – Pakistan’s first female Lieutenant General

The wait is finally over. Mahira Khan is set to play Nigar Johar, the Pakistan Army’s first female three-star general, but in the upcoming film ‘Aik Hai Nigar’. Its a new initiative by the Inter-Services Public Relations Department (ISPR).

In a statement announcing the project, Mahira Khan stated, “I’m honored to be able to play a woman I adore. The first female three-star general in the Pakistani Army”.

‘Aik Hai Nigar’ chronicles Lieutenant General Nigar Johar’s life and career. What a life, what a narrative… but knowing her is knowing one of the greatest among us.”

Major General Nigar Johar promoted to Lieutenant General in the Pakistan Army in 2020. She is from Panjpeer in Khyber-District Pakhtunkhwa’s Swabi (K-P). She is Pakistan’s first female Surgeon General.

However, in 2017, she became the Army’s third female officer to achieve the rank of major general. According to a Dawn report, Lieutenant General Johar one of 25 brigadiers promoted to the position of major general.

She is a member of the Army Medical Corps and has made tremendous strides but over the years.

Additionally, Lieutenant General Nigar Johar is Col Qadir’s daughter, He was a member of the Intelligence Community’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Lieutenant General Nigar Johar is also the niece of Maj Mohammad Aamir, a retired military officer. Maj Mohammad Aamir, a retired Pakistan Army officer, also served in the ISI.

Lieutenant General Nigar Johar’s parents killed in a car accident but many years ago.
