Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School Education Department, Government of Balochistan, to provide fully funded higher education scholarships to meritorious female students from across the province.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at FCCU on July 24, 2026, marking a significant step towards expanding access to quality higher education for young women from underserved communities of all districts of Balochistan. The initiative, funded by the World Bank, will provide fully funded scholarships and guaranteed employment opportunities to 30 to 50 outstanding female students from Balochistan.
The ceremony was attended by Madam Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Minister for School Education, Government of Balochistan, senior officials which include Mr. Lal Jan Jaffar – Secretary Education, Mr. Arif Achakzai – Special Secretary, Finance Department, Hafiz Muhammad Qasim – Project Director, PMU-BESP (MoU Signatory), Mr. Atique Rehman – Teacher Development Specialist, PMU-BESP, Mr. Rommel Khan – Senior Project Officer, PMU-BESP (Focal Person – Scholarships; MoU Witness) from the Project Management Unit, Balochistan Education Support Project (PMU-BESP, GRADES) along with FCCU’s Rector, Dr. Jonathan S. Addleton and members of the University’s senior leadership.
The initiative aims to empower talented young women through quality higher education while creating pathways to meaningful employment. The partnership reflects a shared commitment between the Government of Balochistan, FCCU, and development partners to strengthen educational access, promote women’s empowerment, and contribute to the long-term social and economic development of the province.
