After weeks of intense speculation and online buzz, Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has finally made her appearance in the trailer of the much-anticipated Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh. The trailer dropped on Sunday evening and was shared by Diljit himself across social media platforms, officially confirming Hania’s role as the female lead and ending all rumours about her exit from the project.
The film, which also stars Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela, is set to release on 27th June, but only in international markets. Due to ongoing political tensions following the tragic Pahalgam attack on April 22, the film will not be released in India.
For weeks, there had been whispers that Hania Aamir might be dropped from the film amid growing calls in India to ban Pakistani actors from Indian cinema. The pressure came after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) appealed to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny the film a release certificate due to its Pakistani cast. Rather than risk more backlash, the makers have chosen to skip a theatrical release in India altogether.
Adding fuel to the fire, Indian YouTube viewers are currently unable to view the trailer. Attempting to watch it results in a geo-restriction message stating, “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.” While teasers and songs from the movie remain accessible, the trailer—featuring Hania prominently—is blocked in India.
In another twist, Hania Aamir’s Instagram profile has also been restricted in India, reportedly due to her comments criticizing India’s Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam incident. This has only deepened the divide, with reactions on social media ranging from support and admiration to anger and protest.
Despite the tensions, fans around the world are showing excitement for Sardaar Ji 3. The chemistry between Hania and Diljit has already become a talking point, and many are praising the trailer for its energy, humour, and fresh cast.
