Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, announced a significant milestone for Gwadar, highlighting its imminent transformation into a world-class port city. This progress is largely attributed to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has been instrumental in the region’s development.
Ahsan Iqbal lauded the advancements facilitated by CPEC, underscoring Gwadar’s strategic significance. He emphasized that CPEC is pivotal in turning Gwadar into a major port city, poised to enhance economic growth not just locally but across Pakistan. China’s substantial investment in Gwadar, including the construction of modern port facilities and initiatives to boost socioeconomic growth, has been a key driver of this transformation.
Among the standout projects in Gwadar is a state-of-the-art hospital, offering medical services comparable to those in major cities like Karachi and Lahore. Minister Iqbal noted that Gwadar’s development under CPEC exemplifies the benefits of international cooperation leading to significant local advancements.
The new infrastructure and facilities being developed are expected to generate numerous job opportunities, stimulate the local economy, and improve the quality of life for Gwadar’s residents.
