The movie, the second installment of the action-packed franchise, features a star-studded cast, including Rebecca Ferguson and Austin Butler.
Heralded as the second part of the two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel “Dune,” the film follows Paul Atreides as he allies with the Fremen people on the desert planet Arrakis to confront House Harkonnen. The ensemble cast includes Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, and Souheila Yacoub.
In an exclusive interview with the Los Angeles Times, Denis Villeneuve and actor Austin Butler discussed their experiences working on the film. Austin revealed that although they had mutual friends and colleagues, their first meeting occurred in Hungary during stunt rehearsals. He recalled, “We basically said hello and then got down to work on the fight, trying to kill each other.”
Denis Villeneuve elaborated on the on-screen chemistry, stating, “We did some readings by Zoom because everybody was all over the planet, and I wanted to hear the words just before locking everything. I did feel that there were some sparks between both actors. They’re professional. It’s their job to get along.”
