Weather update, the Chief Meteorologist at the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz, has disclosed the imminent arrival of a new spell of rain, hailstorms, and snowfall set to envelop the entire country, commencing from February.
Notably, Karachi and select areas of Balochistan are also poised to witness light showers coupled with thunderstorms during this weather episode. Dr. Sarfaraz underlined the significant rainfall and anticipated snowfall in the northern regions, attributing it to the influence of westerly waves.
“We are expecting some good rains from Feb 25, which will continue till March or may even extend to April under the influence of westerly waves,” he elaborated. The Chief Meteorologist emphasized the potential positive impact of this precipitation, stating that it could alleviate fog and smog concerns in the country. He urged the public to exercise necessary precautions in light of the expected weather conditions.
